(MENAFN) Bahrain Central Informatics Organization’s (CIO) Bulletin of Quarterly National Accounts said that the kingdom’s economy grew by 4.3 percent during the third quarter of 2010, year on year, Tehran Times reported.
According to CIO figures, the growth mainly came as a result of Bahrain’s economic diversification and the continued strengthening of the private sector, whereas key economic sectors such as manufacturing grew by 8 percent and financial services by 6 percent.
Also, other economic sectors experienced steady year-on-year growth including transport and communication by 6 percent, construction by 5 percent and wholesale and retail trade by 5 percent.
The CIO figures also reveal that during the July-September period of 2010, gross domestic product (GDP) in current prices climbed by 14.3 percent compared to the same quarter a year earlier.
