(MENAFN) A report issued by the Moroccan High Planning Commission showed that the Kingdoms unemployment rate has dropped to 9 percent the July-September period of 2010, down from 9.8 percent in the same period of 2009, Reuters reported.
Morocco witnessed employment growth in the building and services industry due to
infrastructure upgrades, tourism growth and a plan to improve low-income housing and eradicate slums, which has resulted in more jobs, the commission said.
In the third quarter of the current year, 40,000 jobs were created in the Kingdoms farming sector, which represents up to 17 percent of the gross domestic product and employs more than the half of Moroccos work-force, the commission added.
