The agency said that the potential sale includes 500 Javelin guided missiles, 50 command launch units, in addition to associated equipment and support services.

It added that the aim of the sale is to improve the Gulf country’s ability to strengthen its homeland defense, to meet potential threats and to secure its oil and natural gas infrastructure.

The agency noted that it has notified Congress of the possible sale.
