(MENAFN) Air Arabia Group’s CEO, Adel Ali, announced that the airline has received the fuel-saving Sharklet equipped Airbus A320 plane, its second during the current year, reported Emirates 24/7.
Ali said that in February, the Sharjah-based carrier became the first carrier in the Middle East to take delivery of a Sharklet equipped Airbus A320 plane.
The airline, whose network covers 84 destinations, has until now taken delivery of 16 of the 44 A320 planes it has ordered in 2007.
The order is scheduled to complete in 2016, which will increase the low-cost carrier’s fleet size more than double.
It is worth noting that Sharklets are an option on new-designed Airbus A320 family planes that are outfitted with fuel-saving large wing tip devices.
