Abu Dhabi airport’s passenger traffic up 10% in November

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) reported a 10 percent increase in passenger traffic through Abu Dhabi International Airport in November from a year earlier, Arabian Business reported.

The company said some of 1,211,464 passengers used the airport last month while aircraft movements increased by 7.9 percent reaching 10,711.

The airport also registered an 18 percent growth in cargo traffic handling to with over 49,896 tonnes, ADAC said.

Bangkok, Doha, London, Manila and Bahrain were the top five routes for November, collectively claiming 21 percent of the total passenger traffic for the month.

Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operations officer of ADAC, said the airport recorded a 19.3 percent increase in passenger traffic to reaching 13.4 million in the year to date, compared to the same period last year.

He added “Such figures are an indication as to the position of the capital’s airport as a major international aviation hub. ADAC looks forward to sustaining this dynamic growth, and to continue providing passengers with award-winning customer service combined with a high level of efficient and safe operations”.
