(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) announced its intention to make an investment for the development of infrastructure and leisure facilities at the Marfa Port, The National reported.
The USD4.6 million contract was given to Majestic Marine Engineering.
Marfa Port, part of the Al Gharbia plan, is located 125 kilometers west of Abu Dhabi and is considered a centre for diving, boating and fishing.
Mohamed Al Shamisi, the acting chief executive at ADPC, said: “The ports in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region – the Al Gharbia region – are vitally important to the local communities.”
“The Al Gharbia region has enormous potential as a tourism and leisure destination,” he added.
