Bahrain applies software-defined networking gradually

03 Sep 2013

(MENAFN) Experts warned that the software-defined networking (SDN) will cause enterprises investments’ failure in Bahrain, according to Gulf Daily News.

They expect that adopting the “next big IT trend”, the software-defined networking (SDN), is still early in Bahrain.

Sufian Dweik, Brocade regional director for Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa, said: “It enables customers to fully utilize the power of virtualization of hardware and software effectively across the infrastructure. However, it is not, despite the hype, a replacement of physical infrastructure.

Unfortunately if the physical infrastructure is still a three-tier, legacy affair, with redundancy and resilience issues, any investment is SDN will reap little real reward.”
