(MENAFN) Daily cargo flights by Emirates SkyCargo and Air France-KLM will start in a year from Dubai World Central (DWC), Emirates 24/7 reported.
Air France-KLM is planning to relocate its hub to DWC from coming August, and Emirates SkyCargo will operate its flights from a new base at DWC from May next year.
Dubai Airports CEO, Paul Griffiths, said, “The introduction of daily scheduled cargo flights by Emirates SkyCargo as well as Air France-KLM will provide a significant fillip to growth. As the airport matures we will not be able to sustain the triple-digit increases experienced in the first few years of operations but we expect volume growth to resume, albeit at a more moderate pace.”
Wizz Air and nasair will also begin passenger flights from the airport in late October. The passenger terminal in DWC will be able to service 7 million passengers annually.
