(MENAFN) Daimler’s spokesperson said that the German automaker would take back 1,800 Mercedes Benz cars in the UAE as a result of a cruise control malfunction, reported Arabian Business.
The company added that the problem lies in the brake lamp switch, in which the cruise control function won’t disengage by tapping the brake pedal.
It also said that the cars affected by the recall are ML-Class models manufactured between 1999 and 2002 and ML 55 AMG models manufactured between 2002 and 2004. It added that owners of these models would be informed and given a free appointment to repair their cars.
It is worth noting that as a result of the increase in the Chinese growth, Daimler sales of Mercedes Benz went up thirteen percent year on year in the first quarter of this year.
