(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) managing director and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, announced that the company has granted the USD66.9 million Lusaily reservoir contract, reported Arabian Business.
Al Tayer stated that the reservoir will have a storage capacity of 120 million gallons of desalinated water, and will raise the emirate’s total capacity to 723 million gallons.
He said that the contract covers constructing, testing and commissioning 2 reinforced concrete reservoirs with the capacity to hold 60 million gallons each, and linking them to pipelines and the existing reservoir, adding that the project is expected to be completed within 20 months.
It is worth ntoing that according to a new research by Ventures Middle East, GCC contractors are expected to award USD32.4 billion worth of power and water projects contracts next year.
