(MENAFN) Pure Gold Jewellers’ Chairman, Firoz Merchant, stated that the Dubai-based jewelry retailer’s sales during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) surged by 40 percent from 2012s’ same period, reported Gulf News.
Merchant said that several factors played a key role in the notable increase, including DSF’s huge promotional efforts to attract shoppers, higher number of tourists, in addition to a 70-percent discount offered by Pure Gold on its range of Pure Diamonds jewelry for the festival period.
The chairman said that 2013’s festival saw an increase in the number of tourists coming from GCC countries, the Indian Sub-continent, China, as well as other parts of the world.
He noted the retailer has unveiled a variety of gold and diamond jewelry collections to meet the growing demand from consumers and to cater to all budgets.
It is worth noting that Pure Gold recorded a 40-percent expansion in demand for gold jewelry and 10 percent growth for diamond jewelry during DSF 2013.
