(MENAFN) Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Executive Director, Mattar Al Tayer, stated that the RTA has granted a USD5.91 million contract for the construction of internal roads at Al Qouz 3 and a part of Al Qouz 4 to Wade Adams Company, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Tayer said that the project comes as part of the 5-Year Plan (2012-2016) approved by the Ruler of Dubai for paving internal roads in several residential areas in the emirate at a total cost of nearly USD272 million.
He noted that works on the project will begin by the end of November and take 300 days to finish.
He added that the Internal Roads Project at Al Qouz 3 and part of Al Qouz 4 covers the construction of roads extending 9 km and consisting of 7-meter wide collector roads, and 6.5 meter-wide local roads, in addition to roadside parking slots measuring 2.5 meters in width.
Moreover, it covers lighting works, storm-water drainage services, traffic signage and road marking.
It is worth noting that the 5-Year Plan for Construction of Internal Roads at Residential Districts in Dubai Emirate encompasses the construction of internal roads in nearly 16 areas where urbanization ranges from 20 percent to 80 percent, although it declines in some areas to 5 percent.
