24 Dec 2016

(MENAFN) According to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), 80% of the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is complete, as of mid-December.

This park will be the world’s largest single-site solar park based on the Independent Power Producer model (IPP), as it will be developed at a total investment of Dh50 billion (USD13.6 billion).

The managing director and chief executive of Dewa said: “The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park has a planned capacity of 1,000 MW by 2020 and 5,000 MW by 2030, and will eventually save approximately 6.5 million tonnes per annum in emissions.”
