(MENAFN) The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) chairman and executive director, Mattar Al Tayer, announced that on January 4, the emirate will officially launch the USD517 million Al Khail Road project, reported Arabian Business.
Al Tayer said that the project, one of the emirate’s biggest road construction projects, is aimed at establishing a substitute traffic passage supporting both the Sheikh Zayed and Emirates Roads.
He added that the project, which will be an expansion of the Business Bay Crossing, has been executed in 4 phases.
It is worth noting that over a period of 5 years, Dubai will spend another USD272 million to develop roads.
