(MENAFN) US No.1 automaker General Motors Co (GM) unveiled plans to invest, along with its dealer partners some USD750 million in Saudi showrooms by 2015, as it seeks to boost sales, service and spare parts network in Gulf Kingdom, Saudi Gazette reported.
The investment during the next two years will be made on new land purchase and the building of sales, service and spare parts facilities.
General Motors Middle East said it has re-aligned its Chevrolet and GMC dealer network in the Kingdom in July, in order to improve the shopping, buying and ownership experience for all customers.
Under the plan, GM Middle East, in partnership with dealers Aljomaih Automotive Company (AAC) and Universal Motors Agencies (UMA), will increase their facilities across the Kingdom to more than 120 by 2015 from 96 currently.
General Motors’ dealers in the Middle East reported a 42 percent increase in sales, totalling 15,255 vehicles year-on-year in November.
The largest increase came from Saudi Arabia, where sales jumped by an impressive 104 percent.
