(MENAFN) Hanjin/NYK service, the new direct service to and from the US West Coast and Korea, was inaugurated by Bahrain’s Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP), according to Gulf News.
The international ports of Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Los Angeles and Shanghai will be linked by this service which aims to improve trade growth between Bahrain and the US.
The Japanese company, Nippon Yusan Kysha (NYK), and the Korean company, Hanjin Shipping, in addition to APM Terminals Bahrain were the parties that signed the convention.
Simon Brebner, APM Terminals chief commercial officer, said: “We are pleased to welcome this new direct service which will now open direct lines for shipping companies in the kingdom and significantly boost transshipment activities, thereby contributing to the kingdom’s economy.”
