Lebanese budget deficit down to 16% in Jan, Feb

(MENAFN) Lebanese Finance Ministry stated that the country’s budget deficit in the first two months of this year reached 16.05 percent, down from 18.1 percent year on year, reported The Daily Star.

The ministry also said that the deficit amounted to or USD293 million, down from USD351 million, therefore registering a drop of USD58 million.

The ministry added that the primary surplus, excluding the cost of debt servicing, amounted to USD69 million, up USD26 million year on year.

It is worth noting that total government revnues stood at USD1.5 billion while customs revenues reached USD229 million.
