(MENAFN) Qatar Airways has expanded its services to Iraq by launching a new route to the central city of Najaf, Arabian Business reported.
The airline said the expansion move was essential as it saw an increase in demand to Iraq, driven by the country’s reconstruction programme.
Six months ago, Qatar Airways launched its first two routes to Iraq, serving Baghdad and Erbil.
Qatar Airways said the latest launch would increase its frequency across Baghdad, Erbil and Najaf 50 percent to 12 services each week.
Najaf, to be operated four-times-a-week, becomes destination number 124 in the airline’s global network.
