(MENAFN) At least 13 firms have shown interest in boosting an independent water project in Khasab with a capacity of 16.000 cubic meters per day.
Accordingly, the Khasab project, which is projected to be finished by late 2019, will cater to the increasing demand for water in the Musandam governorate.
Meanwhile, the Sultanate is also developing independent water projects in Salalah, Shaqiyah and Duqm, which will jointly add 52.8mn imperial gallons per day.
Moreover, demand for potable water in Oman’s northern area, is expected to increase by 6 percent per annum in the coming 5 years.
