(MENAFN) Power and Automation Technology Group, ABB, received an order for provide an electrical control and instrumentation solution valued at USD15 million for a project in Saudi Arabia, reported Arab News.
The order was submitted by the Japanese company operating the project, Torishima Pump.
The system will be operated by the state-run Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), responsible for operating the country’s national desalination plants. When completed in 2013, the water transmission system will be capable of transferring 80,000 cubic meters of potable desalinated water per day along a 217 km pipeline between the cities of Al Taif and Al Baha.
