(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi has been named as the proffered bidder for 42 UK-based Marriott hotels after making an offer of USD973 million, British magazine Property Week reported.
In July, the Sunday Times reported that Qatar and Abu Dhabi had both been in talks to buy the hotel.
Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), which had planned to team up with the Blue Coast Indian hotel chain as part of the deal, made the highest offer, according to the newspaper.
Founded 1929, Marriott International is an American diversified hospitality company that has franchisor of a broad portfolio of hotels and related lodging facilities.
Currently, Marriott has more than 3,700 properties in over 73 countries and territories around the world.
