(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) reported 29.1 percent increase in half yearly sales compared to a year earlier, Arabian Business reported.
The retailer said sales hit a total of USD103.5 million during the first half of 2012, boosted by record breaking second quarter performance.
The spend per passenger grew by 8.3 percent compared to 2011’s first half and remains one of the highest in the region, officials said.
Mohammed Al Bulooki, ADAC chief commercial officer said ADDF is launching exclusive products, specifically within Perfume and Cosmetics, which are generating strong revenues.
The sales boost comes as Abu Dhabi International Airport posted a 22.8 percent increase in passenger traffic during the first six months.
ADDF’s expects to generate over USD210 million from sales by year-end.
