(MENAFN) A $150 million aircraft engine maintenance facility planned by a unit of Abu Dhabi investment fund Mubadala and General Electric Co (GE) is expected to open in 2013, Reuters reported.
Mubadala’s Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) said in the statement that the design of the new facility was underway with ground breaking planned for the first quarter of 2011 and opening in 2013 to support GE engines in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The ADAT facility will be a world first GE and Engine Alliance facility and brings significant new capability to the region, Homaid al Shemmari, chairman of ADAT, said in the statement about the facility, which is part of a GE and Mubadala agreement in 2009.
