(MENAFN) Siemens Energy stated that a joint venture between the company and Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co was granted a contract for the development of a power plant in the UAE, reported Arabian Business.
Siemens said that the deal tackles the Shuweihat 3 combined-cycle plant in Abu Dhabi. Siemens did not disclose the financials of the agreement.
Under the new deal, Siemens would provide four gas turbines, two steam turbines, six generators and electrical systems, while Daewoo would be in charge of ancillary and auxiliary systems and civil works.
Siemens added that this deal would be a sub-project under the one granted to Japanese Sumitomo Corp and Korea Electric Power Corp for the construction of a power plant in the emirate for USD1.5 billion.
