(MENAFN) The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority said the number of hotel guests staying in the capital surged by around 30 percent last month from the same period a year earlier to 198,139 tourists, reported Arabian Business.
The authority added that the number of guest nights grew by 20 percent to 571,672.
It also said that occupancy was at 66 percent, although average length of stay fell slightly by 7 percent to 2.89 days and the average room rate went down by 6 percent to USD136.9.
It is worth noting that in January, Abu Dhabi’s hotel revenue increased 11 percent form 2011’s same period to USD111 million.
