(MENAFN) The Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, Fahd Saeed Al Raqabani, said that, for the second time, the city plans on hosting the Global City, the fifth edition of the international forum on urban planning, in March 2011 at Emirates Palace, reported Gulf News.
Al Raqabani said that the event would be held under the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and is expected to receive over 1,000 guests which would talk about the affects and challenges of growing global urbanization.
Al Raqabani said that the forum would last for three days and is going to discuss the role of values and identity for sustainable growth and cities success. Senior executives from the private sector along with city leaders from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas are also expected to attend the event, he added.
It is worth noting that several governmental entities including the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, Municipality of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are hosting the event.
