(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi’s Department of Economic Development’s (DED) acting executive director of the Commercial Affairs Division, Mohamed Moneef Al Mansouri, said that starting April 8, the department would begin issuing electronic trade licenses, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Manosuri added that the move would lessen the procedures for issuing a trade license, trim down the use of paper, decrease file storage and archiving costs, and would make retrieval easier.
He also said that the department organized 3 workshops in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region for 70 owners of printing houses to let them know about the electronic archiving and transactions.
It is worth noting that under the new measure, all clients will have to submit needed documents in electronic format in the future.
