(MENAFN) Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) said that last year, the emirate’s annual inflation rate dropped to 1.9 percent, from 3.1 percent in 2010, reported Gulf News.
SCAD added that average prices of the clothing and footwear group fell by 13.8 percent, whereas national households’ prices rose by 1.9 per cent, non-national households grew by 1.6 percent and collective households were up 3.4 percent.
He also said that average consumer prices from December 2010 to December of last year increased 1.2 percent, while they fell 0.2 percent from November to December 2011.
It is worth noting that housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels together were the second highest group that contributed to the total rise in the consumer price index (CPI) at 31.9 percent.
