(MENAFN) The Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Co. (ADNEC), said that the company is planning to build a $953.2 million convention center in Al Ain, Khaleej Times reported.
He pointed out that the first-of-its-kind development of the city aims to boost Al Ain’s potential as a business and lifestyle destination. Al Ain, about 160 kilometres from the capital, is less commercial and known for its greenery and pollution-free environment.
The project will be built in phases and local firm Al Fara’a General Contracting is the contractor for phase one. Contractors for the remaining elements of the master development are expected to be appointed over the coming months, the official said.
ADNEC is also building the $2.18 billion Capital Gate project in Abu Dhabi, a business and residential district next to the capital’s exhibition centre.
