(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) spokesman said that the Integrated Gas Development (IGD) project, which includes offshore gas processing and transportation network that serves domestic demand, would be functional in 2013 or 2014, reported The National.
The IGD project would provide more stability and security in gas supply in the UAE, added the spokesman. The project amounts to $6 billion and includes platforms, processing plants and a pipeline from Umm Shaif to Habshan.
The project aims to providing a capacity of a billion cubic feet of gas on a daily basis. Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, a unit of ADNOC, announced that the first phase of the project was successfully completed.
