(MENAFN) The General Manager of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), Falah Al Ahbabi, said that the company’s $408.3 million Mussafah channel project was officially granted to the Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), reported Gulf News.
Al Ahbabi said that the aim of the new 53km channel is to come in place of the existing access channel to the Mussafah Industrial Area.
The General Manager said that the company believes that the new waterway would improve the service in Mussafah Industrial Zone and the future ICAD areas.
Al Ahbabi said that the new channel is expected to contribute in improving Abu Dhabi’s economy and creating more economic chances to the existing Mussafah Industrial Zone, through increasing numbers of operations and the entering of global markets.
