(MENAFN) Saad Mohseni, chairman of Moby Group, Afghanistan’s largest media company, said that the company plans an expansion in the Middle East that would start with presence in Dubai, reported The National.
Mohseni said that Moby plans five channel openings by mid of 2012. The central office would be in Dubai and would function as a regional headquarters. The company would create general entertainment satellite channels and shows that are specially made for viewers in the Arab region as well as south Asia.
Mohseni added that the company recruited around 25 people in Dubai so far and plans an increase of up to a hundred employees. He said that TV channel launch would go through governmental processes and approvals that he described as severe.
The chairman also said that new offices in Dubai are to be located in Dubai Studio City, a member of TECOM Investments Media Cluster, which also oversees Dubai Media City.
