(MENAFN) Khalaf al Habtoor, Al Habtoor Group chairman, said that the company is studying the construction of a new hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, in plans to build the largest hotel in the UAE, reported The National.
Al Habtoor said that hotels have good economic performance in the country despite the financial crisis. He said that the hotel would include around two thousand rooms and suites, thus over-numbering the current largest hotel in the UAE, Atlantis the Palm of 1,539 rooms.
Al Habtoor also said that no partnerships would be needed for funding or managing the hotel.
It is worth noting that Al Habtoor Group owns several businesses across different sectors such as cars and civil engineering. Earlier this month, the company’s chairman said his company was still owed more than $1.08 billion for projects long since completed.
