(MENAFN) Algeria predicts to increase exports of natural gas this year as it aims to build on its top spot in sales to Spain last year and strong sales to Italy and Portugal.
Furthermore, gas exports are projected to increase to 57bn cubic meters after sales of 54 bcm in 2016.
In addition, the country sold 20 bcm of gas to Spain last year, covering 55 percent of Spain’s needs, which supplied Italy’s demand for 16 percent.
On the other hand, Algeria’s gas output in 2016 was 132.2bn cubic meters, an increase from 128.3 bcm in 2015.
