(MENAFN) Oman-based Aluminum Rolling Mill Co awarded a contract to the Fata unit of Dubai’s branch of the Italian contractor, Finmeccanica, worth USD299 million, reported Gulf News.
The contract would be in the fields of doing work of turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the aluminum rolling plant that will be located in Sohar.
With an annual capacity of 160,000 tons, the facility provided by Fata will contain a Hazelett continuous caster, while Fata Hunter, division of Fata, will supply a hot rolling mill along with world-class cold rolling and finishing equipment.
The project would create 275 direct jobs and will also generate many other jobs required to support the operation of the plant.
