Bahrain, Iraq to open joint business council

(MENAFN) Gulf Daily News reported that Bahrain and Iraq have agreed to establish a joint business council soon in a bid to boost co-operation.

The scheme was announced as the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry board members Khalaf Habeeb Hajeer and Adel Ahmed Al Safar met Nineveh Investment Authority director-general director Muwaffaq Yunis Qassim.

The two sides discussed ways of promoting trade exchanges and boosting co-operation in the industrial and financial sectors.

They also stressed the need to intensify visits to gauge investment opportunities in infrastructure, electricity, metallurgy, raw materials, petrochemicals, construction, agriculture and religious tourism in particular.

A Bahraini trade delegation is also planning to pay an official trip to Kurdistan province, in Northern Iraq.
