(MENAFN) Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) said that the board inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rodriguez Cantieri Navalli, the Italian high-tech shipbuilders, in order to build a marine boat manufacturing industry in Bahrain, reported Arab News.
The EDB added that the agreement would strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional leader in the marine industry, through benefiting from the two sides combined resources and relationships.
On the other hand, Rodriquez’ chief executive, Livio Corghi, said that the agreement would represent an entry to the Gulf and its multi-billion dollar market.
It is worth noting that the Italian Immsi Group (Rodriquez), which controls Rodriguez Cantieri Navalli, is specialized in constructing technologically advanced and innovative fast ships for the commercial, military and yacht markets.
