Bahrain receives $6.5b in FDI: Minister

22 Aug 2010

(MENAFN) Bahraini Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro said that foreign direct investment (FDI) in the kingdom has more than doubled to $6.5 billion under the Free Trade Agreement with the US, Gulf Daily News reported.

The minister emphasized, however, that businesses must grab the opportunities before other countries cash in with similar deals.

Bahrain companies must now act quickly to enjoy the business opportunities which the Bahrain government has provided for them, he said in a statement.

The government is doing all that it can to spread awareness of the FTA and provide access to information and technical assistance in order that companies can maximize the benefits of the agreement to grow their businesses, Fakhro added.
