10 Apr 2014

(MENAFN) Aluminium Bahrain, or Alba, saw a significant rise in sales in the first quarter of the current year by 3.1 percent year-on-year reaching 226.472 metric tons, according to Gulf Daily News.

The company’s production increased 2.1 percent year-on-year reaching 232.298 metric tons higher than its own forecast for the period.

Value-added sales also increased 66 percent in average in the first quarter of this year on sound demand of value-added products.

Alba chief executive Tim Murray said: “The underlying physical demand and premiums remain very strong. Alba was able to deliver on its marketing strategy as a way to contribute to the bottom line despite the lower LME prices.”
