(MENAFN) Bahraini Public works Minister Essam Khalaf expected North Manama causeway project to be completed ahead of its July 2013 deadline, Gulf Daily News reported.
The USD260 million development was originally scheduled to complete in the first half of next year and part opened for traffic in the next few months.
Work was temporarily suspended last April amid the political unrest in Bahrain, but is since thought to have continued without disruption.
In 2010 Belgium’s Besix Group was chosen to carry out the construction works of the project, including building Bahrain’s 2.4km North Manama causeway and upgrading the King Faisal highway and Al-Fateh junction.
