(MENAFN) Bahrain’s central bank governor, Rasheed al Maraj, said that the bank is offering support to Bahrain’s small businesses that were affected by the decline in the country’s financial status due to the political unrest that took over the country over the past month, reported the National.
Maraj pointed out that businesses in consumer and tourism sectors would be directly affected by the unrest; thus additional support is needed.
Maraj said that small commercial banks had already reported small businesses approaching banks for debt restructuring. Maraj said that the central bank would take adequate measure to ready commercial banks for such arrangements.
