(MENAFN) Bahraini Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro opened a $13.3 million warehouse in Galili, owned by the General Trading and Food Processing Company (Trafco), Gulf Daily News reported.
The warehouse, one of Bahrain’s largest warehousing facilities, has a total built-up area of 100,000 cubic meters. It can store up to 85,000 cubic meters of frozen, chilled and dry food and perishables, said Trafco’s chairman.
The offiical said Trafco was set up in 1978 as a public joint stock company as part of an initiative to revolutionise and rejuvenate the food industry in Bahrain.
The company is now among the largest and biggest consumer goods conglomerate in Bahrain and deals in some leading international brands such as Sadia, Rainbow, Honig, Noor, Daawat, OKI, Pride and Tata Tetley.
