BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, is pleased to announce the winners of the BBK Visa Debit Card Summer Promotion. BBK teamed up with Visa Middle East on this promotion to reward customers who used their BBK Visa Debit Cards over the summer both in Bahrain and overseas to shop and pay.
Each card transaction made between July 1st and September 30th 2011 entitled the customer to an entry into a lucky draw and the chance to win great cash prizes.

13 individual cash prizes totaling an aggregate amount of $40,000/- were available to be won under the promotion split into two categories. For International Debit Card usage, 3 customers were eligible to win $ 10,000 each and for local Debit Card usage, 10 customers were eligible to win $ 1,000 each. The prize draw took place last month, witnessed by a Ministry of Industry and Commerce representative, Mr. Yasser Buallay and BBK officials.

The 3 lucky winners of $ 10,000 each from the International Debit Card usage draw are Abdulla Mohd Al Naimi, Zainab Ismail Hamza Ismail, Isa Jamal Nasser Buallay, and the 10 lucky winners of the $1,000 each local Debit Card usage draw are Balan Vengattu Parambil, Abdulla Abdulaziz Abdulla, Zainab Saeed Abdulla Ahmed, Ramla Sabah Habib Taher Ali Humood, Hussain Mohd Hassan Al Rahma, Widad Nasser Najem Al Rumaithi, Jaffar Salman Taqi Mohammed, Aysha Sameer Mohd Ghanem Al Sulaiti, Mohamed Jasim Mohamed Al Salman, Osama Saleh Mohd Al Yaaqba.

The cash prizes were handed over to the winners by BBK’s Chief Executive, Mr. A. Karim Bucheery, at a ceremony held on January 15th in the BBK Main branch in Manama. The handover ceremony was also attended by Mr. Majeed Hujair, General Manager of Visa (Bahrain and Kuwait), Mr. Axel Hofmann, Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Reinaldo Moarry, Head of Retail Marketing, Ms. Mai Al Hamar, Head of Electronic Banking, and Ms. Nada Bubshait, Marketing Communications manager.

The winners expressed their thanks and commented on the usefulness and convenience of having BBK Visa Debit Cards. One of the winners, Mr. Isa Jamal Buallay, had used his BBK Visa Debit Card to pay for his TV service subscription, and was quite excited about his unexpected win. His Father, Mr. Jamal Buallay, was even more enthusiastic about Isa’s win, saying “this is a great start to 2012 and the cash will be useful for Isa’s future wedding expenses.”

Another of the prize-winners, Ms. Zainab Ismail, had used her card abroad during her summer vacation. She expressed her thanks to the Bank and said that she particularly enjoys using BBK’s online banking services and relies on these completely for her regular banking transactions.

Speaking at the prize ceremony, BBK’s Chief Executive, Mr. A.Karim Bucheery, said: “at BBK we always aim to give our customers great service and great offers. BBK Visa Debit Cards are free, easy to use and safer than carrying cash so it makes sense to use these cards for a wide range of transactions both at home and overseas.
