BBK, a leader in retail and corporate banking in the Kingdom of Bahrain, celebrated the graduation of twenty female employees who successfully completed the “Women in Leadership” program offered by Harvard University and Cornell University. The initiative reflects the Bank’s commitment to empowering women and strengthening their presence in leadership positions within the financial and banking sector and comes in conjunction with the Kingdom’s celebrations of Bahraini Women’s Day.

The program aims to equip participants with advanced leadership skills, prepare them for key organizational roles, and empower them to lead with confidence and clarity within their institutions. It also seeks to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages growth, strengthen female leadership capabilities to enhance institutional performance, and provide employees with the tools and resources needed for long term professional success.

The graduation of this cohort marks a significant milestone in the Bank’s strategy to develop its human capital and to reinforce a well-established approach that promotes equal opportunity and empowers women to assume senior roles through specialized programmes aligned with global best practices. These initiatives are designed to equip female employees with leadership skills, decision making techniques and effective communication abilities, enabling them to take on influential responsibilities across the Bank’s various departments and divisions.

On this occasion, Mrs. Najwa Al Ahmed, Head of Human Resources and Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Committee at BBK, said: “We are proud to celebrate the graduation of this distinguished group of female employees from the ‘Women in Leadership’ program and the progress they have demonstrated, which affirms the strength and readiness of our female talent to assume leadership roles across institutions. This reflects our belief that investing in the development of women’s leadership capabilities is essential to building diverse and dynamic teams and creating genuine opportunities for women to lead and make a lasting impact.”

Mrs. Al Ahmed further added: “Empowering women at BBK is a fundamental part of our approach to fostering a work environment rooted in inclusion and equal opportunity, and to investing in training and development as a central pillar for enhancing institutional efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of qualified talent capable of leading future growth. The Bank will continue to support initiatives that enable its employees to progress in their career paths and acquire the tools and knowledge required to succeed and excel in leadership.”
