Stemming from its belief in its humanitarian role in serving the community welfare and in line with its strategies and programs of providing generous donations, BBK, Bahrain pioneer in retail and commercial banking presented a cheque of BD 25,000 on April 2nd, 2012 as a gesture of support to the Caravan of Goodness, which is an initiative, part of the national campaign “Wehda Wahda” launched by the Ministry of Human Rights & Social Development to foster national unity & citizenship among members of the Bahraini society.
The cheque was presented by BBK’s Chief Executive Mr. A.Karim Bucheery to Her Excellency the Minister of Human Rights & Social Development, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Baluchi, in the presence of Ministry Undersecretary for Social Development, Mrs. Hanan Mohammed Kamal, and Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development, Mr. Khalid Ishaq. Also present at the cheque presentation ceremony were representatives from Mayasem Co. for Communication Consultancies, in charge of implementing the national campaign. Present from BBK were Mr. Reyadh Sater, General Manager – Shared Services Group, Mr. Abdul Hussain Bustani Assistant General Manager – Human Resources & Administration, and Mrs. Rafa Kaddoura – Corporate Communication Manager.
Her Excellency the Minister expressed her thanks & appreciation to BBK for its generous support towards the national campaign, hailing the role of the Bank as a successful example in the field of social partnership through its ongoing interest in financing the various projects of the Ministry. The Minister said the active participation of the private sector in various social development projects is a vivid reflection of an advanced vision in social responsibility.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Bucheery expressed BBK’s pride in presenting this type of support, praising the importance of social solidarity & national unity among members of the Bahraini community.
The Bank’s contribution is channeled for supporting the Caravan of Goodness which is a huge competitive work of art embodying large camels in their natural size with creative colors according to the vision of young artists aged between 12 to 18 years old from all segments of the society, and led by a Bahraini artist for each camel. The Camels will be displayed as memorial in public areas throughout the Kingdom and each one will be named after the sponsoring company / organization which supports the initiative.
