BBK introduces new and enhanced work policies that promotes Diversity and Inclusion

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, recently introduced new and enhanced work policies aimed at fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. With a key focus on achieving work-life balance, these policies are designed to create a productive work environment that recognizes and supports both personal and family responsibilities of the employees and reinforce employee’s loyalty and satisfaction.

Those policies include several key enhancements and benefits, such as:

• Extended maternity leave for female employees, demonstrating BBK’s commitment to supporting mothers during this important phase of their lives.
• Expanded eligibility for medical accompanying leave, to include employees’ parents, in addition to the current eligibility to accompany children and spouses of employees.
• Introduction of a new policy, “parent-child” leave, which grants both male and female employees three days to attend to important family obligations, such as vaccinations, school open days, first day of school – kindergarten and early grades, and school graduation ceremonies.

These policies were initiated by the Equal Opportunities Committee at BBK, which focuses on recommending and proposing policies and programs that promote equal gender opportunities.

On this occasion, Mrs. Najwa Al-Ahmad, Assistant General Manager of Human Resources and Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Committee stated, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Bank’s Board of Directors and management for their unwavering support in creating a stimulating work environment. This reflects the Bank’s commitment to striking an ideal balance between business success and social responsibility.”
