In line with their strategic initiatives for a brighter community, BBK- Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking- handed over a cheque of BD 1,000 as a gesture of their support towards Bahrain Deaf Sport Club. The cheque was handed over by Mrs. Rafa Kaddoura, Head of Corporate Communications of BBK to Mr. Basem Mirza Al Moathen, President- Bahrain Deaf Sport Club, in the presence of Mr. Adel Saeed Mahroon, Secretary- Bahrain Deaf Sport Club, Mr. Ali Mansoor Al Dakheel- Treasurer- Bahrain Deaf Sport Club and Ms. Abeer Swar- Corporate Communication Officer- BBK.

BBK supports the hearing impaired individuals through sponsoring various activities and programmes for the Deaf Club in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  The Bank’s contribution has been very effective in providing financial resources for the Bahrain Deaf Club making it possible to furnish the Clubhouse and to provide the basic equipment and facilities for its administrative and technical activities. The Clubhouse is the main facility visited by all the Deaf Club members in the Kingdom of Bahrain where they are effectively integrated in the community through sports activities and participation in local and international events.

Further, the Club regularly holds training and cultural courses and organizes lectures for the deaf and their friends. The Club is planning to arrange a sign language training workshop for the Club members and their friends. All facilities are provided to the Club members to enable them to participate in various events and conferences inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, hence BBK belief in supporting such great initiatives, geared at helping those community members with hearing disabilities. 

The Deaf Club is the sole organization authorized by the General Organisation for Youth and Sport to run sports activities and events for the deaf in the Kingdom of Bahrain. On this basis, the Club has undertaken to overcome all difficulties to attract the biggest number of individuals (of both sexes) with hearing disability to engage in sports activities and to participate in different championships in the Kingdom of Bahrain and to join teams that take part in Gulf and international events. 

As one of the major financial institutions in Bahrain, providing regular contributions to various humanitarian causes and societies throughout the years, BBK has supported entities including major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at achieving the sole goal and vision of a brighter future and community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
