BT, VIVA sign deal for IP exchange hub in Bahrain

(MENAFN) British Telecom (BT) and mobile phone operator VIVA Bahrain signed a deal to establish a Global IP Exchange (GIPX) hub in the Gulf kingdom, Arabian Business reported.

Through the agreement, VIVA Bahrain is to deliver hosting and connectivity services in addition to a new route to help market BT’s Global IP Exchange Voice and interoperability services in the region.

The agreement with VIVA Bahrain serves as an opportunity for BT to expand to a fourth region after the launch of its interoperability hubs in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

“Interoperability is key to the success of future communication services and IP Exchange is a core element to bring it to life for our fast growing region,” said CEO of VIVA Bahrain.
