(MENAFN) Construction works on the King Fahd Causeway is expected to start in the following three months, according to Arab News.
The Causeway expansion project is estimated at USD 533million and is expected to be completed in five years.
In the next three months, the King Fahd Causeway Authority will work on reducing chronic bottlenecks on the bridge through the expansion.
Badr Al-Otaishan, director general of the causeway, said that the project includes building two islands reclaimed from the sea on either side of the bridge, of 400,000 square meters each.
