(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Ports Co (ADPC) said that a boost in shipping traffic is expected at the end of 2014, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
Khalifa Port’s container traffic is expected to increase to 1.1 million twenty foot equivalent units (TEUs) this year, up 22 percent from 2013.
ADPC chief executive said that the combined container traffic by the country’s Khalifa and Zayed ports is expected to go over 12 million tons in 2014, increase from 9.3 million tons in the year before.
The CEO said: “It is going to be a big jump but all the givens that we have at the moment are pointing towards it.”
